The cord blood is taken from the umbilical vein after the cord has been cut and clamped, and collected into a specialized bag with anticoagulant (CPD). A section of the umbilical cord can be placed into our collection bottle if cord tissue services have been chosen. Once the collection is complete, and all documentation is filled out, call us immediately and we will promptly schedule a pickup.
